Some mobile phone carriers lock their phones, so they can't be used with other carriers. The simplest way to find out if the phone is locked is to borrow a SIM card from anybody who is using a different mobile service provider. If you power-up the phone and it recognizes the SIM card, your phone is unlocked and OneSimCard's SIM card will work as well. OneSimCard does not provide unlocking services. However, we can recommend you a good unlocking company who will do this for you remotely without shipping your phone. ThePhoneUnlockers will be able to send you an unlock code for almost any phone within one day. Get more information about how to unlock a cell phone.
Yes, you can forward calls made to your domestic cell phone and landline numbers to your OneSimCard phone.
There are two ways of doing this:
Order a Personal Second Number - Local or Toll Free. You can then forward your US, Canadian or UK cell phone or landline to this number which will forward to your OneSimCard enabled phone. Calls received through a US or Canadian Personal Second Number will be charged an additional 29c/min. Calls received through a UK Personal Second Number will be charged a 25c connection fee only with no additional per minute charge.
Please Note: Your subscription to a Personal Second Number starts the moment your order is shipped. If you do not need your Second Number to be active right away, you can always wait and order a Second Number later at any time by logging in to your account.
Our sister site at www.LDPost.com offers Office Anywhere service that will provide you with a US Toll Free number that you can specify to ring at any number be it international or domestic. You can change the Forward To number on the fly by using the Web Interface.
Different carriers use different ways of programming call forwarding. Below are instructions to setup call forwarding with various US wireless carriers. We urge you to test the call forwarding a few days prior to your trip, and to call your US wireless carrier for assistance if needed.
Yes, if you have a World Phone from Verizon or Sprint such as the BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown) you can use it with OneSimCard service. It will only require the special dialing instructions below to make outgoing calls (there is no additional charge). Receiving calls is the same as with any other phone.
To make an outgoing call you should do the following:
Initiate your call by sending a free SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard Menu) of a OneSimCard enabled phone:
To: 9146 Message: <*>146<*> + 00 + Country Code + Number + <#>
For example, to call to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: <*>146<*>0016174895952<#>
After your SMS is sent wait approximately 10 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number. Make sure that the balance on your account is greater than $5 so that SMS messaging capability is enabled on your phone.
Please Note:
1. You can not send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard Menu of the phone, it must be sent using your phone's standard SMS function. You will not be charged for sending this SMS to 9146.
2. If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that the SMS settings of your phone are correct and that the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
No, unless you have a "World Phone" from Verizon or Sprint that is dual-mode CDMA/GSM, such as some BlackBerry models, which require special dialing instructions to make outgoing calls.
CDMA-only phones will not work with OneSimCard service. OneSimCard service requires an unlocked GSM capable phone (for example, all AT&T or T-Mobile phones are GSM). Some domestic carriers such as Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology, while most of the rest of the world uses GSM. Check with your wireless provider or phone manual if you are not sure if your phone is CDMA or GSM.
Yes - Voice Mail is available. You can turn it on/off from your phone or from our web site interface. Checking to see if there are any messages on your voicemail is free and can be done easily from your phone or online. Listening to your voice mail messages from your phone is billed at the cost of an outgoing call from the country you are in.

New Online Voicemail Feature: You can now listen to voicemail for free by logging in to your account and clicking on the Voicemail link. There, you can also set voicemail to be emailed to you as an audio file and change passwords and other settings.
You will receive an SMS notification for each new Voice mail received. Below is a sample notification message: "You have 1 new message in your mailbox at (Date, GMT Time). To listen to new message dial 095. Per minute charge applies."
The OneSimCard international SIM card works in Japan and South Korea. However, both countries use 3G networks, so only bi-modal (GSM-WCDMA) enabled phones with the specific UMTS 2100 frequency will work in these countries.
OneSimCard offers several cell phones with the necessary band for Japan and South Korea (that also work in every other country we cover):
Most GSM unlocked Tri-band or Quad-Band phones are compatible with OneSimCard service.
Verizon & Sprint dual-mode CDMA/GSM "World Phones" such as BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown), are compatible with OneSimCard, however require special dialing instructions shown here.
Some phones will allow calling only from OneSimCard menu. Some phones will allow calling directly, but with the use of prefix *146* as described in the user guide.
Some phones such as Samsung and some other brands require dialing a specific prefix *146* in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.
For example, calling to USA: Dial *146*0016175551212# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To check your balance dial <*>146<*>099 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To add funds dial <*>146<*>098XXXX<*>ZZ and press the TALK (or SEND) button, where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount
You need to press <*> on your phone in the above dialing sequences
Activation of voice mail <*>146<*>091 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Deactivation of voice mail <*>146<*>090 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Check number of messages in Voice Mail <*>146<*>094 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To listen to voice mail <*>146<*>095 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The sequence <*>146<*> can be used from any phone. However, most phones do not require it.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible so you can call directly without using the OneSimCard menu or *146* by following the simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)
Bear in mind that if you power the phone down and remove and reinstall the battery, you will need to go through this programming again.
Here is an incomplete list of compatible mobile phones with notes about specific OneSimCard compatibility. We are constantly working on updating this list. Please share with us your experience about your specific wireless phone model and we will share this information with others.

Calls made through these common access numbers are free for the caller, but your OneSimCard account will be billed an additional 29c/minute for any calls you receive this way. Dialing through these numbers is a dual stage process: First you dial the access number and then you dial the SIM card number.

USA - Local or Toll Free
Canada - Local or Toll Free
United Kingdom

Dialing 0 in front of 1 is required when making a regular long distance call within France to Paris. However, when making an international call or OneSimCard call, 0 is omitted.
For example, if you are located in Italy and need to call Rome: You should dial +3906XXXXXXXX, as Rome's code is 06.

Just log in to www.onesimcard.com, go to the My SIM Cards menu, Click on the Service Details button, select the stolen SIM card number and click the Block button. Alternatively, you can contact customer service at +1-617-489-5952 for assistance.
Are you using OneSimCard SIM card with your own phone, rather than with a phone
purchased from OneSimCard.com? Some phone models, mostly those made by

Local carriers block OneSimCard outgoing calls in some countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. If this happens, your call should be initiated by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of a OneSimCard phone:
To: 9146 Message: <*>146<*> + 00 + Country Code + Number + <#>
For example, to call from Saudi Arabia to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: <*>146<*>0016174895952<#>
After your SMS is sent wait approximately 20 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number. Make sure that the balance on your account is greater than $5 so that SMS messaging capability is enabled on your phone.
There are no special instructions to receive calls in these countries.
Note 1: You can't send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard menu of the phone.
Note 2: If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that SMS settings of your phone is complete and the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000

You can call us +1-617-489-5952 during our business hours
You can call from your OneSimCard mobile phone by dialing 096 + Talk button. This is not a free call.
You can submit your support request from your OneSimCard phone by sending an SMS to +1-617-826-9050. We will review your question and will reply back with an SMS to your OneSimCard phone.
Please try to be specific in your SMS messages. You do not have to include your OneSimCard number in your SMS request. Please list a brief summary of the problem and we will do our very best to provide you with assistance.
We allow moving balances from one SIM card to another in the following cases:
Corporate Accounts - anytime.
Individual Accounts - only when a SIM card is lost or stolen. The remaining balance from your lost or stolen SIM card can be transferred to another SIM card on your account or you can order a new SIM card if you would like to keep your original European number from the lost SIM.
OneSimCard will work with almost any unlocked GSM tri-band or quad-band cell phone. A partial list of compatible cell phones that we have tested can be viewed here.
If you are still unsure whether your cell phone is compatible, contact support or purchase an international cell phone from us, which all come preloaded with our international SIM card and $10 balance.
2. If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that the SMS settings of your phone are correct and that the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
It's actually quite simple to rent a OneSimCard Mobile Phone to use during your travels. Just tell us the date you need the phone and we will ship a complete package directly to you. Your package will include a mobile phone programmed with an international phone number, an extra battery, a charger, an international travel adapter plug, a holster, the OneSimCard User Guide, $5 worth of initial airtime, and a US Mail return envelope. When you return from your trip, simply return the package in the envelope provided.
The phone will come with $5 of initial airtime. There are three ways to purchase additional airtime.
You can buy the airtime on-line by logging into your account at www.onesimcard.com. Your account will be created automatically when we ship you the phone.
You can set up an auto-recharge which will automatically add value to your existing balance once it goes below a predetermined balance.
You can use your Global Mobile Phone, by submitting a recharge order from the handset. Your credit card on file will be charged and the airtime will be added instantly.
You should ship the package back to us through the US Postal service using the envelope that came in your original package. The return label will require appropriate postage. The post office will scan the label. The date the package is scanned is considered the rental's return date. Thus you will not be charged rental fees for the days after the package is scanned to be shipped back to OneSimCard.
If you do not ship the rental package back as scheduled you will be charged Over the Planned Rental Period daily fees which are specified for you at the time of purchase and could be found here.
If the rental package is not returned within 15 days after the planned rental period has passed, we will consider the phone purchased and you will be charged for the full cost of the package. Returns will not be accepted after this point regardless of the reason for the delay.
You will be charged for missing or damaged items in the package. The cost of the replacement items is provided in the packing slip of the rental package.
Upon shipping of the rentals, we will charge your credit card the full replacement cost of the rental package.
When the package is returned to OneSimCard, we will issue the credit back to the original credit card for the difference of the replacement cost and the actual cost of rentals based on the rental period ordered and the date returned.
Separate charges will be made for the purchase of additional air-time at the time of recharges (air-time purchase).
Once your order is processed and shipped, you will receive a notification email. At this point, you can log in to your account at www.onesimcard.com and:
Activate your SIM cards. ( you might want to wait with activation till your actually receive the package)
Once the SIM is activated, you can set up the second personal number. You will see the link on the screen in the Recharge Menu. The Second Number activation is done instantly.
