OneSimCard VoIP requires you to order a compatible Personal Extra Number (PEN). Most of the PENs we offer are OneSim VoIP enabled. You also need to have an Android phone with software version 2.0 or higher, or Apple device (iPhone, iPaed, iPod Touch) with iOS 4.3 or higher.
Once you have an active OneSim VoIP enabled PEN, you will be able to see the option to create a OneSim VoIP account in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
Once you create the OneSim VoIP account, you will be emailed settings and instructions. You can also see the settings in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
To make an outgoing call using OneSim VoIP, you need to be registered on a Wi-Fi network and have the OneSim VoIP app running on your phone. You should make the call using the OneSim VoIP app dial pad. To make a call the regular roaming way, you should make a call using the OneSimCard Direct app or from your regular phone dial pad.
When someone dials your OneSim VoIP enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN), the system will first check if your OneSimCard phone is registered with the OneSim VoIP app on a Wi-Fi network. If it is registered, the call will be sent using VoIP. If the OneSim VoIP app is not running or it is not registered on a Wi-Fi network, then the call will be sent using the standard OneSimCard roaming network and charged our standard roaming rates.
Yes. If you are not available to answer the OneSim VoIP call or if the OneSim VoIP app is turned off, the call will be routed through our standard roaming network. If the call is not answered it will be sent to your OneSimCard voicemail box.
The quality of a OneSim VoIP call is only defined by the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. This is the part of the connection that we can not control. Quality of the Wi-Fi connection is defined by many parameters, rather than just by the speed of the connection. With a good Wi-Fi connection the quality of the call will be similar to using our regular roaming network.
For Android phones, you must have a OneSimCard international SIM card installed in your phone for the OneSim VoIP app to work.
For Apple devices, including iPhones, you do not need to have a OneSimCard international SIM card installed in your phone. As long as you have an active VoIP-enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN) on your OneSimCard account then you can use OneSim VoIP with any SIM card installed in the phone or even without a SIM card if you are using an iPad.
Log in to your OneSimCard account, go to the My Sim Cards menu and scroll down. If your PEN is VoIP compatible you will see an option to create a OneSim VoIP account.
If you have more than one OneSim VoIP enabled PEN you can switch between these PENs for the purpose of the OneSim VoIP account. This option is available in the My SIM Cards menu in your online account.
If your incoming calls are not being routed through the OneSim VoIP app then you are either not connected to Wi-Fi or the OneSim VoIP app is not active.
Please make sure to check your phone's sleep settings, as they are usually preset to have Wi-Fi turn off when the phone enters sleep mode. To prevent this and to keep OneSim VoIP active for incoming calls, find the settings in your phone and set it so Wi-Fi does not turn off when the phone enters sleep mode.
Note: if the OneSim VoIP logo on the top of your phone display is gray then you will not be able to receive calls through the application. When the logo is yellow that means you are connected and can receive calls through OneSim VoIP.
If you were unable to find answers on OneSimCard services, ask your question and we will help you.
