31. Rates and Cost Questions
    • How much does it cost to receive a call with OneSimCard?

Receiving calls is free in over 150 countries when received on your primary European phone number, including in most of Europe. To receive a call on your U.S. number or other Personal Extra Number, there is an additional per minute rate added. View all international cell phone rates.

If you receive a call through a Common Access Number or Personal Extra Number (such as a U.S. number) there is an additional charge of 20c/min. In countries with free incoming calls this would be your only charge per call.

All incoming SMS text messages are free to receive when received on your primary European number. Add 9 cent per SMS when receving text on US or Canada PEN.

32. OneSimCard General Service Questions
    • Is there a way to send a SMS to a short code number?

OneSimCard does not offer SMS service to short code numbers.

Please note: If you do try to send an SMS to a short code then your account may be charged $9 for each message.
We do offer special US PEN that is capable of receiving SMS from Short Codes, like those sent by Banks, Paypal and other institutions.
33. OneSimCard General Service Questions
    • Can I send SMS text messages to a OneSimCard enabled phone by email?

Yes, you can send SMS messages by sending an email to 372XXXXXXXX@sms.onesimcard.com, where 372XXXXXXXX is the 11-digit OneSimCard mobile phone number you are trying to reach.

Please note that message should be sent in English characters only and no attachments to this email are allowed.

This option of sending SMS by email provides a completely free way of communicating, as it is usually free for you to send the email and costs nothing for the OneSimCard customer to receive it. The maximum number of daily received SMS sent by email or from the web per SIM is 25.

Starting June 3rd, 2014 OneSimCard offers new USA and Canada PENs capable of receiving SMS ( Text Messages) . These PENs carry a charge of 9 cent per received SMS. These PENs can receive only SMS sent from a mobile device and will not receive texts sent from web sites of Gmail, Yahoo, banks etc. If you need to receive alerts from the web site sent to your mobile phone, we suggest you to select the alert option by email and provide OneSimCard email of your phone 372XXXXXXXX@sms.onesimcard.com, which you will receive as an SMS.

34. OneSimCard General Service Questions
    • Can I keep receiving calls made to my regular cell phone or landline numbers while traveling abroad?

Yes, you can easily forward calls from your regular cell phone number, home phone, office, etc. to your OneSimCard phone while you're abroad!

Your OneSimCard international SIM card comes with both a European and U.S. number. To forward your regular U.S. numbers to the SIM, just set them to forward to the U.S. number that's included with your SIM card.

You can also order unlimited Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) - Local or Toll Free - in many different countries, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy and Spain. For example, if you work or live in the UK and want to keep receiving calls made to your regular UK numbers, just add a UK PEN to your SIM card and set up call forwarding to that new number.

Calls received through a PEN will be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate of the country you are in. The exception is calls received through a UK-Mobile PEN which is only charged an additional 25c per call.

Please Note: Your subscription to a Personal Extra Number starts the moment your order is shipped. If you do not need your PEN to be active right away, you can always wait and order a PEN later at any time by logging in to your account.

Different carriers use different ways of programming call forwarding. Below are instructions to setup call forwarding with various US wireless carriers. We urge you to test the call forwarding a few days prior to your trip, and to call your US wireless carrier for assistance if needed.

35. OneSimCard General Service Questions
    • What is the difference between OneSimCard Plus, OneSimCard Data & Roam and OneSimCard Europe & More SIM cards?

All 3 OneSimCard SIMs work in a very similar manner.  They all use an Estonian Mobile Number as the primary number and offer a Free US or Canada PEN for 30 days. All OneSimCards also offer many  additional features such as Global Concierge, 24/7 Live Technical Support, SIM VOIP and Apps for iPhone and Android.

The main difference between the 3 SIM cards is that OneSimCard Plus offers Voice and SMS Text Messaging in many more countries.  The OneSimCard Data & Roam is recommended mostly for Internet Data on iPads, Smart Phones, Mi-FI devices and generally offers lower Internet Data Rates and Data Services in many more countries .  For some countries like Canada, Cuba, Brazil and a few others, the OneSimCard Data & Roam offers lower calling rates.

The OneSimCard Europe & More was specially created for European travelers and offers our best calling rates to the US & Canada,  from the 40 included countries, all with easy Direct Dialing, while OneSimCard Plus and OneSimCard Data & Roam utilize callback.

OneSimCard Plus, OneSimCard Data & Roam and OneSimCard Europe & More also operate on different networks in many countries.

You can compare rates for all these SIM cards here.

36. OneSimCard General Service Questions
    • Are there any international toll-free or local Common Access Numbers (CAN)?

OneSimCard international mobile service does not require dialing any access numbers when calling from international locations, you simply dial as you normally would when you're abroad. However, when somebody is calling to your OneSimCard phone there is an option for them to call you through a Toll Free or local number rather than dialing your European mobile number directly, which could be expensive for them. This call will instead be charged to your OneSimCard account at an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate in the country where you are receiving the call.

When someone calls you through a Common Access Number they receive a prompt where they then enter your primary European number starting with 372 to reach you. For a direct connection, we recommend adding a Personal Extra Number (PEN) instead.

At this time we have Toll Free and/or Local Common Access Numbers in the following countries:

      • Argentina
      • Australia
      • Austria
      • Argentina
      • Brazil
      • Canada
      • Cyprus
      • France
      • Germany
      • Greece
      • Hong Kong
      • Israel
      • Mexico
      • New Zealand
      • Russia
      • Spain
      • UK
      • USA - Toll Free as well as local Common Access Numbers in New York City, Washington DC and Los Angeles

You can find these numbers in the User Guide or while logged in to your OneSimCard web account portal.

37. Rates and Cost Questions
    • How much does it cost someone in the US or Canada to call to my OneSimCard cell phone?

Many U.S. and Canadian carriers can charge more than $3/minute to connect to an Estonian mobile number, the primary mobile number for a OneSimCard global SIM card. Your SIM card includes a U.S. number which will be much less expensive for people to call.

Callers can also use one of the Common Access Numbers (CAN) that we provide to you free of charge in more than 10 countries. Your OneSimCard account will simply be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate in the country you are in to receive those calls. There is also the option of ordering a dedicated Personal Extra Number (PEN) in Canada and many other countries that will forward all calls directly to your OneSimCard cell phone. You can see the list of countries where PENs are available here:

You can order a Personal Extra Number when placing your order or later at any time by logging in to your account. Visit our Rates & Coverage page and choose any country to view all rates.

If you would prefer for the caller to pay for calls made, we recommend they buy Speaklonger. Using this service would guarantee a connection to your OneSimCard mobile phone from the U.S and Canada for 20c/min and it is very easy to use without switching your LD carrier.

38. Rates and Cost Questions
    • Are there any monthly fees or connection charges?

There are no monthly fees or connection charges for using OneSimCard international cell phone service.
