Starting March 11, 2013, our OneSimCard international SIM card comes with two phone numbers: European and U.S.
The primary European number is based in Estonia) (country code +372). Estonia is a member of the European Union and one of the most high-tech and entrepreneurial societies in the world, especially when it comes to telecommunications. The world-famous program Skype was invented by Estonian developers.
The U.S. number is randomly assigned once you activate your SIM card and will be active for 30 days unless renewed monthly or yearly for a small cost. If instead you would like to choose your own U.S. area code or a Toll Free number, you can order this separately
You can order an unlimited number of Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) in many countries including USA (+1, many area codes available and Toll Free), Canada (+1, many area codes available and Toll Free), South Africa (+27), Greece (+30), Netherlands (+31), Belgium (+32), France (+33), Spain (+34), Finland (+358), Bulgaria (+359), Hungary (+36), Lithuania (+370), Latvia (+371), Slovenia (+386), Italy (+39), Romania (+40), Switzerland (+41), Czech Republic (+420), Slovakia (+421), Austria (+43), UK (+44), Denmark (+45), Sweden (+46), Norway (+47), Poland (+48), Mexico (+52), Brazil (+55), Malaysia (+60), Australia (+61), New Zealand (+64), Japan (+81), Hong Kong (+852) and Israel (+972). Have phone numbers in as many as 34 different countries on one SIM card! You can also set your Caller ID to display a Personal Extra Number instead of your primary European number.
PLEASE NOTE: There is an additional charge of 20c/min to receive calls on your U.S. number or other PEN (except for a UK-Mobile PEN which only adds 25c per call). All SMS text messages must be sent to your primary European number. Your U.S. or other PEN will not accept text messages, they are only for voice calls.
OneSimCard will work with almost any unlocked GSM tri-band or quad-band cell phone. A partial list of compatible cell phones that we have tested can be viewed here.
If your phone is not a quad-band phone, please make sure that the bands of your phone are those required in the country of your travel. You can look it up here.
If you are still unsure whether your cell phone is compatible, contact support or purchase an international cell phone from us, which all come preloaded with our international SIM card and $10 balance.
Yes, you can easily forward calls from your regular cell phone number, home phone, office, etc. to your OneSimCard phone while you're abroad!
Your OneSimCard international SIM card comes with both a European and U.S. number. To forward your regular U.S. numbers to the SIM, just set them to forward to the U.S. number that's included with your SIM card.
You can also order unlimited Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) - Local or Toll Free - in many different countries, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy and Spain. For example, if you work or live in the UK and want to keep receiving calls made to your regular UK numbers, just add a UK PEN to your SIM card and set up call forwarding to that new number.
Calls received through a PEN will be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate of the country you are in. The exception is calls received through a UK-Mobile PEN which is only charged an additional 25c per call.
Please Note: Your subscription to a Personal Extra Number starts the moment your order is shipped. If you do not need your PEN to be active right away, you can always wait and order a PEN later at any time by logging in to your account.
Different carriers use different ways of programming call forwarding. Below are instructions to setup call forwarding with various US wireless carriers. We urge you to test the call forwarding a few days prior to your trip, and to call your US wireless carrier for assistance if needed.
To determine if your phone is locked, if you haven't already purchased a OneSimCard international SIM card then call your wireless provider. If you have already purchased from us then insert the OneSimCard SIM card. If you get any of the following messages on your screen after entering the pin then your phone is locked:
Insert SIM
SIM not valid
SIM Card Not Accepted
Enter Restriction Code
Enter Special Code
Enter Subsidy Code
Enter Subsidy Password
Contact Service Provider (Motorola)
or any other similar messages!
Some mobile phone carriers lock their phones so they can't be used with other carriers. The simplest way to find out if the phone is locked is to borrow a SIM card from anybody who is using a different mobile service provider. If you power-up the phone and it recognizes the SIM card, your phone is unlocked and OneSimCard's international SIM card will work as well.
OneSimCard does not provide unlocking services. There are many third parties online and at your local wireless store that provide unlocking services. If you have been a customer of your wireless carrier for a long time then they should also provide you with an unlock code free of charge. We suggest calling them first before using an outside unlocking service.
Yes, if you have a World Phone from Verizon or Sprint such as the BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); LG KP Series, HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown) you can use it with OneSimCard service. It may only require the special dialing instructions below to make outgoing calls (there is no additional charge). Receiving calls is the same as with any other phone.
To make an outgoing call you may need to do the following:
Initiate your call by sending a free SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard Menu) of a OneSimCard enabled phone:
To: 9146 Message: 00 + Country Code + Number
For example, to call to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: 0016174895952
After your SMS is sent wait approximately 3-10 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number.
Please Note:
1. You can not send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard Menu of the phone, it must be sent using your phone's standard SMS function. You will not be charged for sending this SMS to 9146.
2. If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that the SMS settings of your phone are correct and that the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
No, unless you have a "World Phone" from Verizon or Sprint that is dual-mode CDMA/GSM, such as some BlackBerry models, which require special dialing instructions to make outgoing calls.
CDMA-only phones will not work with OneSimCard service. OneSimCard service requires an unlocked GSM capable phone (for example, all AT&T or T-Mobile phones are GSM). Some domestic carriers such as Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology, while most of the rest of the world uses GSM. Check with your wireless provider or phone manual if you are not sure if your phone is CDMA or GSM.
Verizon and Sprint now offer iPhone 4S, which is capable of working on GSM networks. You can request Verizon and Sprint to unlock the GSM portion of the phone for international travel and most probably they will do this for you. Once they unlock the phone you can use OneSimCard Standard SIM everywhere. However, OneSimCard Plus version of the SIM will not work in USA, but will work everywhere else.
Yes - Voice Mail is available. You can turn it on/off from your phone or from our web site interface. Checking to see if there are any messages on your voicemail is free and can be done easily from your phone or online. Listening to your voice mail messages from your phone is billed at the cost of an outgoing call from the country you are in, except in the countries where we offer a discounted rate for calling voicemail.

The OneSimCard international SIM card works in Japan and South Korea. However, these countries use 3G/WCDMA networks, so only phones with the specific 3G/WCDMA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100 frequency will work in these countries.
OneSimCard offers several cell phones with the necessary band for Japan and South Korea that also work in every other country where we provide service:
Most GSM unlocked Tri-band or Quad-Band phones are compatible with OneSimCard service.
Verizon & Sprint dual-mode CDMA/GSM "World Phones" such as BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown), are compatible with OneSimCard, however require special dialing instructions shown here.
Some phones will allow calling only from OneSimCard menu. Some phones will allow calling directly, but with the use of prefix *146* as described in the user guide.
Some phones such as Samsung and some other brands require dialing a specific prefix *146* in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.
For example, calling to USA: Dial *146*0016175551212# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
* is a star character located on the keypad
To check your balance dial *146*099 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To add funds dial *146*098XXXX*ZZ and press the TALK (or SEND) button, where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount
You need to press * on your phone in the above dialing sequences
Activation of voice mail *146*091 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Deactivation of voice mail *146*090 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Check number of messages in Voice Mail *146*094 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To listen to voice mail *146*095 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The sequence *146* can be used from any phone. However, most phones do not require it.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible so you can call directly without using the OneSimCard menu or *146* by following the simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)
Bear in mind that if you power the phone down and remove and reinstall the battery, you will need to go through this programming again.
Here is an incomplete list of compatible mobile phones with notes about specific OneSimCard compatibility. We are constantly working on updating this list. Please share with us your experience about your specific wireless phone model and we will share this information with others.
OneSimCard international mobile service does not require dialing any access numbers when calling from international locations, you simply dial as you normally would when you're abroad. However, when somebody is calling to your OneSimCard phone there is an option for them to call you through a Toll Free or local number rather than dialing your European mobile number directly, which could be expensive for them. This call will instead be charged to your OneSimCard account at an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate in the country where you are receiving the call.
Whem someone calls you through a Common Access Number they receive a prompt where they then enter your primary European number starting with 372 to reach you. For a direct connection, we recommend adding a Personal Extra Number (PEN) instead.
At this time we have Toll Free and/or Local Common Access Numbers in the following countries:
Australia
Austria
Argentina
Brazil
Canada
Cyprus
France
Germany
Greece
Hong Kong
Israel
Mexico
New Zealand
Russia
Spain
UK
USA - Toll Free as well as local Common Access Numbers in New York City, Washington DC and Los Angeles
You can find these numbers in the User Guide or while logged in to your OneSimCard web account portal.

Generally, OneSimCard can be used on any cruise ship when the ship is close enough to shore so the cell tower signal can be picked up by the phone. The ship should be within at least 1 mile from the coast for your cell phone to pick up a signal. Service will work only when the phone is close to a country where OneSimCard provides international roaming service. Rates are the same as if a call was made from the shore of the country you are near.

Verizon and Sprint now offer the iPhone 4S, which is capable of working on GSM networks. You can request Verizon and Sprint to unlock the GSM portion of the phone for international travel and they will most likely do this for you. Once they unlock your phone you will be able to use the OneSimCard "Standard" version SIM everywhere. The OneSimCard "Plus" version will not work in the U.S. with these dual mode CDMA/GSM phones, but will work everywhere else.
