Starting March 11, 2013, our OneSimCard international SIM card comes with two phone numbers: European and U.S.
The primary European number is based in Estonia) (country code +372). Estonia is a member of the European Union and one of the most high-tech and entrepreneurial societies in the world, especially when it comes to telecommunications. The world-famous program Skype was invented by Estonian developers.
The U.S. number is randomly assigned once you activate your SIM card and will be active for 30 days unless renewed monthly or yearly for a small cost. If instead you would like to choose your own U.S. area code or a Toll Free number, you can order this separately
You can order an unlimited number of Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) in many countries including USA (+1, many area codes available and Toll Free), Canada (+1, many area codes available and Toll Free), South Africa (+27), Greece (+30), Netherlands (+31), Belgium (+32), France (+33), Spain (+34), Finland (+358), Bulgaria (+359), Hungary (+36), Lithuania (+370), Latvia (+371), Slovenia (+386), Italy (+39), Romania (+40), Switzerland (+41), Czech Republic (+420), Slovakia (+421), Austria (+43), UK (+44), Denmark (+45), Sweden (+46), Norway (+47), Poland (+48), Mexico (+52), Brazil (+55), Malaysia (+60), Australia (+61), New Zealand (+64), Japan (+81), Hong Kong (+852) and Israel (+972). Have phone numbers in as many as 34 different countries on one SIM card! You can also set your Caller ID to display a Personal Extra Number instead of your primary European number.
PLEASE NOTE: There is an additional charge of 20c/min to receive calls on your U.S. number or other PEN (except for a UK-Mobile PEN which only adds 25c per call). All SMS text messages must be sent to your primary European number. Your U.S. or other PEN will not accept text messages, they are only for voice calls.
OneSimCard will work with almost any unlocked GSM tri-band or quad-band cell phone. A partial list of compatible cell phones that we have tested can be viewed here.
If your phone is not a quad-band phone, please make sure that the bands of your phone are those required in the country of your travel. You can look it up here.
If you are still unsure whether your cell phone is compatible, contact support or purchase an international cell phone from us, which all come preloaded with our international SIM card and $10 balance.
Yes, you can easily forward calls from your regular cell phone number, home phone, office, etc. to your OneSimCard phone while you're abroad!
Your OneSimCard international SIM card comes with both a European and U.S. number. To forward your regular U.S. numbers to the SIM, just set them to forward to the U.S. number that's included with your SIM card.
You can also order unlimited Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) - Local or Toll Free - in many different countries, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy and Spain. For example, if you work or live in the UK and want to keep receiving calls made to your regular UK numbers, just add a UK PEN to your SIM card and set up call forwarding to that new number.
Calls received through a PEN will be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate of the country you are in. The exception is calls received through a UK-Mobile PEN which is only charged an additional 25c per call.
Please Note: Your subscription to a Personal Extra Number starts the moment your order is shipped. If you do not need your PEN to be active right away, you can always wait and order a PEN later at any time by logging in to your account.
Different carriers use different ways of programming call forwarding. Below are instructions to setup call forwarding with various US wireless carriers. We urge you to test the call forwarding a few days prior to your trip, and to call your US wireless carrier for assistance if needed.
To determine if your phone is locked, if you haven't already purchased a OneSimCard international SIM card then call your wireless provider. If you have already purchased from us then insert the OneSimCard SIM card. If you get any of the following messages on your screen after entering the pin then your phone is locked:
Insert SIM
SIM not valid
SIM Card Not Accepted
Enter Restriction Code
Enter Special Code
Enter Subsidy Code
Enter Subsidy Password
Contact Service Provider (Motorola)
or any other similar messages!
Some mobile phone carriers lock their phones so they can't be used with other carriers. The simplest way to find out if the phone is locked is to borrow a SIM card from anybody who is using a different mobile service provider. If you power-up the phone and it recognizes the SIM card, your phone is unlocked and OneSimCard's international SIM card will work as well.
OneSimCard does not provide unlocking services. There are many third parties online and at your local wireless store that provide unlocking services. If you have been a customer of your wireless carrier for a long time then they should also provide you with an unlock code free of charge. We suggest calling them first before using an outside unlocking service.
Yes, if you have a World Phone from Verizon or Sprint such as the BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); LG KP Series, HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown) you can use it with OneSimCard service. It may only require the special dialing instructions below to make outgoing calls (there is no additional charge). Receiving calls is the same as with any other phone.
To make an outgoing call you may need to do the following:
Initiate your call by sending a free SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard Menu) of a OneSimCard enabled phone:
To: 9146 Message: 00 + Country Code + Number
For example, to call to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: 0016174895952
After your SMS is sent wait approximately 3-10 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number.
Please Note:
1. You can not send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard Menu of the phone, it must be sent using your phone's standard SMS function. You will not be charged for sending this SMS to 9146.
2. If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that the SMS settings of your phone are correct and that the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
No, unless you have a "World Phone" from Verizon or Sprint that is dual-mode CDMA/GSM, such as some BlackBerry models, which require special dialing instructions to make outgoing calls.
CDMA-only phones will not work with OneSimCard service. OneSimCard service requires an unlocked GSM capable phone (for example, all AT&T or T-Mobile phones are GSM). Some domestic carriers such as Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology, while most of the rest of the world uses GSM. Check with your wireless provider or phone manual if you are not sure if your phone is CDMA or GSM.
Verizon and Sprint now offer iPhone 4S, which is capable of working on GSM networks. You can request Verizon and Sprint to unlock the GSM portion of the phone for international travel and most probably they will do this for you. Once they unlock the phone you can use OneSimCard Standard SIM everywhere. However, OneSimCard Plus version of the SIM will not work in USA, but will work everywhere else.
Yes - Voice Mail is available. You can turn it on/off from your phone or from our web site interface. Checking to see if there are any messages on your voicemail is free and can be done easily from your phone or online. Listening to your voice mail messages from your phone is billed at the cost of an outgoing call from the country you are in, except in the countries where we offer a discounted rate for calling voicemail.

The OneSimCard international SIM card works in Japan and South Korea. However, these countries use 3G/WCDMA networks, so only phones with the specific 3G/WCDMA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100 frequency will work in these countries.
OneSimCard offers several cell phones with the necessary band for Japan and South Korea that also work in every other country where we provide service:
Most GSM unlocked Tri-band or Quad-Band phones are compatible with OneSimCard service.
Verizon & Sprint dual-mode CDMA/GSM "World Phones" such as BlackBerry (Bold, Curve, Tour, Pearl, Storm, 8830); LG (Fathom); HTC (Touch, Ozone, Imagio); Samsung (Saga, Intrepid, Renown), are compatible with OneSimCard, however require special dialing instructions shown here.
Some phones will allow calling only from OneSimCard menu. Some phones will allow calling directly, but with the use of prefix *146* as described in the user guide.
Some phones such as Samsung and some other brands require dialing a specific prefix *146* in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.
For example, calling to USA: Dial *146*0016175551212# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
* is a star character located on the keypad
To check your balance dial *146*099 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To add funds dial *146*098XXXX*ZZ and press the TALK (or SEND) button, where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount
You need to press * on your phone in the above dialing sequences
Activation of voice mail *146*091 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Deactivation of voice mail *146*090 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
Check number of messages in Voice Mail *146*094 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To listen to voice mail *146*095 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The sequence *146* can be used from any phone. However, most phones do not require it.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible so you can call directly without using the OneSimCard menu or *146* by following the simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)
Bear in mind that if you power the phone down and remove and reinstall the battery, you will need to go through this programming again.
Here is an incomplete list of compatible mobile phones with notes about specific OneSimCard compatibility. We are constantly working on updating this list. Please share with us your experience about your specific wireless phone model and we will share this information with others.
OneSimCard international mobile service does not require dialing any access numbers when calling from international locations, you simply dial as you normally would when you're abroad. However, when somebody is calling to your OneSimCard phone there is an option for them to call you through a Toll Free or local number rather than dialing your European mobile number directly, which could be expensive for them. This call will instead be charged to your OneSimCard account at an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate in the country where you are receiving the call.
Whem someone calls you through a Common Access Number they receive a prompt where they then enter your primary European number starting with 372 to reach you. For a direct connection, we recommend adding a Personal Extra Number (PEN) instead.
At this time we have Toll Free and/or Local Common Access Numbers in the following countries:
Australia
Austria
Argentina
Brazil
Canada
Cyprus
France
Germany
Greece
Hong Kong
Israel
Mexico
New Zealand
Russia
Spain
UK
USA - Toll Free as well as local Common Access Numbers in New York City, Washington DC and Los Angeles
You can find these numbers in the User Guide or while logged in to your OneSimCard web account portal.

Generally, OneSimCard can be used on any cruise ship when the ship is close enough to shore so the cell tower signal can be picked up by the phone. The ship should be within at least 1 mile from the coast for your cell phone to pick up a signal. Service will work only when the phone is close to a country where OneSimCard provides international roaming service. Rates are the same as if a call was made from the shore of the country you are near.

You will be charged for those calls according to the discount call plan rate. Discount rate not applicable for calls to Customer Support. Calling to some countries costs extra. Please consult our rates page for more details.

Verizon and Sprint now offer the iPhone 4S, which is capable of working on GSM networks. You can request Verizon and Sprint to unlock the GSM portion of the phone for international travel and they will most likely do this for you. Once they unlock your phone you will be able to use the OneSimCard "Standard" version SIM everywhere. The OneSimCard "Plus" version will not work in the U.S. with these dual mode CDMA/GSM phones, but will work everywhere else.
Receiving calls is free in over 150 countries when received on your primary European phone number, including in most of Europe. To receive a call on your U.S. number or other Personal Extra Number, there is an additional per minute rate added. View all international cell phone rates.
If you receive a call through a Common Access Number or Personal Extra Number (such as a U.S. number) there is an additional charge of 20c/min, except for a UK mobile Personal Extra Number that only costs an additional 25c per call. In countries with free incoming calls this would be your only charge per call.
All incoming SMS text messages are free to receive and must be received on your primary European number.
Many U.S. and Canadian carriers can charge more than $3/minute to connect to an Estonian mobile number, the primary mobile number for a OneSimCard global SIM card. Your SIM card includes a U.S. number which will be much less expensive for people to call.
Callers can also use one of the Common Access Numbers (CAN) that we provide to you free of charge in more than 10 countries. Your OneSimCard account will simply be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate in the country you are in to receive those calls. There is also the option of ordering a dedicated Personal Extra Number (PEN) in Canada and many other countries that will forward all calls directly to your OneSimCard cell phone. PEN are currently available in the following countries:
USA (+1), Canada (+1), South Africa (+27), Greece (+30), Belgium (+32), France (+33), Spain (+34), Finland (+358), Bulgaria (+359), Hungary (+36), Latvia (+371), Slovenia (+386), Italy (+39), Romania (+40), Czech Republic (+420), Austria (+43), UK (+44), Denmark (+45), Sweden (+46), Norway (+47), Poland (+48), Mexico (+52), Brazil (+55), Malaysia (+60), Australia (+61), Japan (+81), Hong Kong (+852) and Israel (+972)
You can order a Personal Extra Number when placing your order or later at any time by logging in to your account. Visit our Rates & Coverage page and choose any country to view all rates.
If you would prefer for the caller to pay for calls made, we recommend they buy Speaklonger. Using this service would guarantee a connection to your OneSimCard mobile phone from the U.S and Canada for 30c/min.
No, it does not cost more to dial an international mobile number using OneSimCard service. You will receive the same very low per minute rate whether calling to a mobile phone or to a land line.
There are NO additional roaming charges. The rates you see listed on our Rates & Coverage page are the only rates you will be charged when making or receiving calls on your OneSimCard enabled cell phone.
There are no monthly fees or connection charges for using OneSimCard international cell phone service.
If you order an optional Personal Extra Number (PEN), there is a small periodic fee to keep the PEN active based on how you choose to be billed (from $1.67 per month). There is also an additional charge to receive a call through any Extra Number. View our Rates & Coverage page and click on any country to view our available Extra Numbers and associated costs.
You may return an unused phone or OneSimCard SIM card within 30 days after our shipment of the item to you, provided you never placed a call to or from the mobile phone issued, all airtime is intact and the phone or OneSimCard SIM card is new condition, in the original factory carton, including all packaging materials, inserts and manuals, warranty cards (not filled-out) and all related accessories. A 25% restocking fee will be applied and shipping charges will not be refunded. Returned merchandise will not be accepted unless a Return Authorization (an RA) has been requested and issued by our Customer Support department. The RA number must be clearly written on the outside of the box in order to be processed.
We will not refund airtime used on mis-dialed calls. If you are not sure how to dial a number in a specific country, please request support from customer service.
There are no refunds for sent SMS messages - either it was delivered to the recipient or not. Not all SMS messages can be or will be delivered.
We will not refund minutes used for calls to Customer Service. A call made to Customer Service will be billed at the same rate as a regular call made from the country in which you are located.
There will be no refunds for expired SIM Cards, even if at the time of expiration your SIM Card Account had a positive balance.
There will be no refunds for expired SIM Card Account balances should you fail to recharge your account with at least a $25 payment within ten (10) months of your preceding $25 recharge.
There will be no refunds of your account balance if you terminate the Service.
We urge you not to complete any calls while in the USA as this will be unusually expensive. You can always test your SIM card by making a call from your OneSimCard phone and not answering when your receive a call back, which will confirm that your SIM card & phone are set up properly. There will be no charge to your prepaid account if you do not answer the call back. Contact OneSimCard Customer Support for more help.
To reduce fraud, there is 30-day credit card spending limit set for each individual account. You will only be able to charge up to a certain amount during any 30-day period. You can see your current limit by logging in to your OneSimCard account and going to the Purchase History menu. There, you will find a Credit Card Authorization form available for download. If you would like to increase your monthly credit card spending limit, please download the Authorization form and submit it back to OneSimCard as instructed on the form.
We strongly suggest that you set your monthly credit card limit before going overseas as dealing with the form on the road can be much more difficult.
Yes, in Europe the emergency number is 112. You can use 112 in Europe to report real emergencies to local authorities in the country of stay. The 3 digit number should be dialed directly without any additional digits in front of the number.
No, Common Access Numbers and Personal Extra Numbers can only be used for incoming calls. Extra Numbers will not forward SMS text messages. We recommend that SMS senders use our free online SMS or email-to-SMS functions as described in the user manual and our FAQs.
Your OneSimCard global SIM card and European phone number will never expire as long as you make or receive at least one call every two years. If you fail to make or receive at least one call every two years, your OneSimCard global SIM card and European phone number will expire and you will not be entitled to a refund even if at the time of expiration your account had a positive balance.
However, the funds on the SIM card will expire 10 months from your last recharge and will not be refunded to you. The minimum recharge amount is $25. By simply recharging at least once every 10 months your balance will roll over and you will keep your international phone number for life. If your balance does expire, it will not be refunded to you but all you need to do to get the service working again is to log in and add funds to your SIM card. Automatic recharge will be canceled if you allow the funds to expire, so you will need to set automatic recharge up again once you recharge your balance.
It depends on the country you're in when making the call. In many countries there is a special low rate of just $0.25/min to call another OneSimCard phone (only when dialing the other OneSimCard user's primary mobile number, not a Personal Extra Number). In other countries your cost will be our standard low outgoing call rate from that country.
Example 1: two OneSimCard users are in Italy and one calls the other, the cost will be $0.25/min for the caller and free for the receiver.
Example 2: a OneSimCard user in Argentina calls a OneSimCard user in Russia, the cost will be $0.79/min for the caller and free for the receiver.
Visit our Rates & Coverage page and choose any country to view its current rates. Use the dropdown menus to see rates for calling to/from other countries.
PLEASE NOTE: If you activate a discount call plan, the special rate to make OneSimCard-to-OneSimCard calls will not be available. You will be charged for those calls according to the discount call plan rate.

Service will work only when the phone is close to a country where OneSimCard provides international roaming service. Rates are the same as if a call was made from the shore of the country you are near.

Through a unique partnership with Skype, your primary OneSimCard number (+372) can be called free of charge for any Skype user! (requires activation and special dialing instructions, see below)
HOW: When the feature is activated, Skype users can call OneSimCard numbers for free by using a special dialing format +372800XXXXXXXX, where XXXXXXXX is the rest of the OneSimCard phone number after 372. For example, a OneSimCard user with the phone number +37212345678 should be called through Skype by dialing +37280012345678.
TO ACTIVATE: Log in to your OneSimCard account and go to the My SIM Cards menu. Scroll down to where it says "Incoming Skype Calls" and click Enable to activate this option.
COST: The call is free for the Skype user. The cost of receiving the Skype call is the same as receiving a call through a Personal Extra Number (PEN), i.e. the regular incoming call rate in the country you are in plus 20c/min. In countries with free incoming calls, like Italy or Japan, the cost will be just 20c/min.
PLEASE NOTE:
The incoming call from Skype will usually display on your caller ID as +372800, however there is a chance it could display a different number.
When dialing in Skype Dial Pad, if Skype user chooses the Estonian country code in the menu then they should just dial 800XXXXXXXX because the +372 is added automatically.
If the Skype user dials you without entering the 800 code after the 372 (e.g. +37212345678), they will pay with Skype credit for a call to an Estonian mobile number and you will be charged the regular incoming call rate.
If the “free calls to OneSimCard from Skype” option is not activated for a particular OneSimCard number, when a Skype user dials +372800XXXXXXXX they will hear an automatic message: “The mobile phone is either switched off or out of coverage area.”

Automatic Recharge - recommended: Just log on to your account at www.onesimcard.com and set auto-recharge in the Recharge Menu. Funds will be added to your account when your balance drops below the threshold you set.
From the phone using your credit card: a) From the OneSimCard menu of your phone, scroll down to Add Balance and select this option. Dial the last 4 digits of the credit card on file + * + Amount + press the Talk (or Send) button. For example, if you need to add $50 and the last 4 digits of the credit card registered with us is 8654: You would dial 8654*50 and press TALK. In few seconds you will get a confirmation message with your new balance.
* is a star character located on the keypad

Answer this ring as you normally would answer any incoming call. Your call will then be connected.
Of course you can! Simply send and receive SMS texts according to your phone's user manual or from the OneSimCard Menu. Receiving SMS is always free. Sending an SMS (text message) is 15-59 cents depending on the country.
SMS messages sent to a OneSimCard phone should always be sent to the main OneSimCard mobile number rather than to an optional Extra Number.
Please bear in mind that message should be sent in English characters. In addition, it should not be longer than 160 characters including spaces.
These 2 options of sending SMS by email provide completely free way of communicating, as it is usually free for you to send the email and costs nothing for the OneSimCard customer to receive a text message.
You should make any call the same way as if you were making an international call.
For example, you are in France and need to call Paris: You should dial 00331XXXXXXXX. Please note that you should not dial 01 for Paris, but rather just 1 after country code 33, because Paris' code is 1.
Dialing 0 in front of 1 is required when making a regular long distance call within France to Paris. However, when making an international call or OneSimCard call, 0 is omitted.
For example, if you are located in Italy and need to call Rome: You should dial 003906XXXXXXXX, as Rome's code is 06.
Yes. You can access the Voice Mail from other phones.

New Online Voicemail Feature: You can now listen to voicemail for free by logging in to your account and clicking on the Voicemail link. There, you can also set voicemail to be emailed to you as an audio file and change passwords and other settings.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Voicemail messages will be automatically purged from your inbox after one month, so please be sure to save the content of any important messages before they are deleted.
SMS messaging usually works without any additional setup of the phone. In rare cases when there are issues sending or receiving text messages, please look at the following:
Problem with Sending SMS:
Incorrect SMSC number (SMS Service Center Address) in handset settings. It should be set to +3725099000 for Standard OneSimCard SIM. For Plus SIM used in USA or Canada the SMSC number should be set to +19402389940 NOTE: It is important to have the "+" symbol entered in front of the SMSC number. You can find locations of the Message Settings menus for different phone models here.
If your phone requires the name of Message Center Name enter: SMSC
SMS lifetime is short - must be at least 2 hours or set to Maximum settings.
Try sending SMS from OneSimCard menu
Problem with Receiving SMS:
Receiving Handset does not have enough free memory for incoming SMS.
Receiving Handset was turned off or out of the coverage area during SMS lifetime set on the sending phone - usually 2 hours.
Sender's SMS provider does not have an agreement with the receiving network.
Note: You can always dial 00 instead of + when making outgoing calls. For example, to reach OneSimCard customer service in the USA you can just dial 001 617 3138888.
You should consult the phone manual for this info. Different manufacturers have specific ways to access the '+' key, so make sure you know yours.
Here are few known ways:
BlackBerry® 6210: Press Alt (bottom, far left on keyboard) and the letter "I".
Bosch: Press and hold the star (*) key until the "+" sign appears.
Motorola: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
Nokia: Press the star (*) key twice in rapid succession.
Pocket PC: Pull up the keyboard, hit the <123> button in the top left corner, and select "+" from the resulting screen.
Samsung: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
Sony Ericsson: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
Treo 270: Press the blue button and then the "G" key.

The OneSimCard phone number has no expiration, provided you made at least 1 call every two years.
However, the funds on the SIM expire 10 months after your last recharge. The minimum recharge amount is $25. You can keep the balance from expiring by simply recharging at least once every 10 months. Some recent Android upgrades to versions 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 have a bug causing the OneSimCard Menu, labeled as SIM Toolkit, to be disabled.
If you do not see the SIM Toolkit app in your Android phone, please try doing the following:
Go to Settings>Security>Setup SIM Card Lock>Lock SIM Card. It will ask for the default SIM PIN. Enter 0000. Power off the phone and turn it back on. The SIM Toolkit app will then become available, though it might take 1-2 minutes for the phone to display it.
Once you have access to the SIM Toolkit, select it, scroll down to Settings, enter 1101 and press confirm. Your phone will now be able to dial normally.
Some phones, such as Samsung, some Motorola, Android and some Apple iPhones, require special dialing instructions or simple OneSimCard settings menu changes in order to make calls.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible, so you can call directly without using the OneSimCard menu or *146* by following these simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)
Bear in mind that if you have powered your telephone down, and have removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to follow the programming steps outlined above, again.
How to deactivate compatibility mode - this might be necessary if you move the OneSimCard to another phone model:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "1102" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: OFF" message)
One other solution is to dial a specific prefix *146 in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.

If you just activated your SIM card and can not make a test call by following the instructions in the user manual, you will likely just need to power off the phone and power it back on again. The phone should automatically re-register with one of our partner networks or you can manually select and register with a network. Remember, if you answer the test call when it rings you will be charged for the call.
If your phone or SIM card is lost or stolen and automatic recharge is on, this could be a serious problem.
To prevent this, log in to your account and activate the option to block your service immediately after you notice your phone or SIM card is missing. You can find this option in the My SIM Cards menu. Your OneSimCard service for this SIM card number will be instantly blocked. The remaining balance on your lost SIM can be transferred to another SIM card on your account or you can order a replacement SIM card if you would like to keep your phone numbers from the lost SIM.
Some phones such as Samsung and some other brands require dialing a specific prefix 146 in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible, so you can call directly without using OneSimCard menu or *146* by following these simple programming instructions below.

Some phone models do not allow direct dialing with OneSimCard.
To get around this problem, you should try either of these methods:
Locate the OneSimCard menu on your phone. (Some phones have it in Applications.) Make a call using menu 'Call'.
You can also make a call by dialing directly *146*00 Country Code Number# For example, to make a call to the USA, you would dial *146*0016173138888# (do not forget to hit pound at the end of the number)
* is a star character located on the keypad
Other examples of how to use th *146 dialing prefix if necessary:
To check your balance dial *146*099 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
To add funds dial *146*098XXXX*ZZ and press the TALK (or SEND) button, where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount
You need to press * on your phone in the above dialing sequences (it is a star character located on the keypad)

To listen to voice mail *146*095 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The prefix *146* can be used from any phone. However, most phones do not require it.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible so you can call directly without using OneSimCard menu or *146* by following these simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:

When dialed directly, some Nokia and other phones can display message: "Call is not allowed" or "Call is barred". Just ignore this message and wait for the ring-back for 10 seconds or so.
If your phone is built on Android, Symbian or WM5 or WM6 operational systems, you can download an application that will remove the callback ring completely called OneSimCard Direct. You can download it here:
Local carriers in Saudi Arabia and UAE sometimes block standard OneSimCard outgoing calls. If this happens you need to either (a) enter a compatibility code into the settings of your phone or (b) initiate your call by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of your phone.
How To Activate Compatibility Mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "802" and select "OK" (screen will show message "output channel is SMS")
Bear in mind that if you have powered your telephone down and removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to follow the programming steps outlined above again.
How To Deactivate Compatibility Mode:
Open "OneSimCard" menu
Select "Settings"
Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
Dial digits "801" and select "OK" (screen will show message "output channel is USSD")
How To Dial Without Activating Compatibility Mode:
Initiate your call by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of your phone.
To: 9146 Message: *146* + 00 + Country Code + Number + #
* is a star character located on the keypad
For example, to call from Saudi Arabia to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: *146*0016173138888#
After your SMS is sent wait 3-10 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number.
Note 1: You can't send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard menu of the phone.
Note 2: If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that SMS settings of your phone is complete and the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
There are no special instructions to receive calls in these countries.
Some phones do require manual change of bands. If you were using the phone in USA or Canada (bands 850/1900) and then go to Europe (bands 900/1800) you might need to change bands. In most phones it is done in Settings - Networks menu.
When outside of North America make sure you have set:
Bands to 900/1800 GSM
Network selection to automatic
If your phone is not a quad-band phone, please make sure that the bands of your phone are those required in the country of your travel. You can look it up here.
Most newer phones do not require any manual band changes, but older phones like Motorola V66 and some others do.

It may only require the special dialing instructions below to make outgoing calls (there is no additional charge). Receiving calls is the same as with any other phone.
To make an outgoing call you may need to do the following:

For example, to call to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:

Each GPRS data session is charged for a minimum of 10kB usage. Even if you check just one 3k email you will be charged for 10kB of usage. In some countries this can be over 30c per session, however in Europe and elsewhere it can be as little as 1c. Check all rates.
Please note: Some phones, like iPhones and other smartphones, can access data without you even knowing it if you have data enabled. We strongly recommend checking the settings on your phone or disabling GPRS from your OneSimCard account if you will not be needing data service. By default, all SIM cards are pre-programmed with GPRS data service disabled.

There can be a number of reasons why a battery does not hold a charge. Excluding the possibility of it being a faulty battery, there is another important factor to consider. If your phone is not registered on a roaming network, the battery will drain very quickly as the phone is constantly searching for a network to register on. So, if you get on a 6 hour flight and do not turn the phone off, by the time you land at the airport your battery will be drained and you will not be able to call back home.
The same thing will happen in those areas with spotty or weak signal network coverage - the battery will drain very fast. It is always a good idea to have an extra battery with you when you travel abroad.
This is a known issue with Apple's Facetime application on certain unlocked iPhone 4 phones. We recommend disabling Facetime so it will not be able to automatically send SMS to this 447786205094 number. Any SMS sent to this number automatically by your phone can not be refunded by OneSimCard. Additional questions regarding iPhone 4 applications and how they communicate should be directed to Apple Support.
If you left your phone on during your flight or cruise then you should fully power down and restart your phone. Once your phone powers back on it should automatically select an available roaming network.
If your phone is not a quad-band phone, please make sure that the bands of your phone are those required in the country of your travel. You can look it up here.
This means that your SMS text message has been split up into multiple messages because it contains too many characters.
Each standard GSM format SMS text message can be a maximum of 160 characters. If you send a text in a foreign language or that contains any unsupported characters, the text will be sent in Unicode format with a maximum character length of 70. If your text exceeds these character limits then it will automatically be split up and sent as multiple messages and your account will be charged accordingly for each outgoing SMS text message.
Sometimes when moving from the USA, Canada or Mexico to another country, the SIM card will need to be reset to properly register on a new country roaming network.
If you have the OneSimCard Menu on your phone (it may be called Sim Application Menu on iPhones or SIM Toolkit on Androids), go to the menu, scroll down to Settings and enter 000.
If you do not have access to the OneSimCard Menu then turn off your phone, remove the battery for 20 seconds, reinstall the battery and then turn back on your phone.
It's actually quite simple to rent a OneSimCard international cell phone phone bundle to use during your travels. Just tell us the date you need the phone and we'll ship a complete package directly to your door. Your package will include a mobile phone programmed with an international phone number, extra battery, charger, international travel plug adapter, holster, OneSimCard User Guide, $5 worth of initial airtime, and a US Mail return envelope. When you return from your trip, simply return the package in the envelope provided - just add postage.
The phone will come with $5 of initial airtime. There are three ways to purchase additional airtime.
You can buy the airtime on-line by logging into your account at www.onesimcard.com. Your account will be created automatically when we ship you the phone.
You can set up an auto-recharge which will automatically add value to your existing balance once it goes below a predetermined balance.
You can use your Global Mobile Phone, by submitting a recharge order from the handset. Your credit card on file will be charged and the airtime will be added instantly.
You should ship the package back to us through the US Postal service using the envelope that came in your original package. The return label will require appropriate postage. The post office will scan the label. The date the package is scanned is considered the rental's return date. Thus you will not be charged rental fees for the days after the package is scanned to be shipped back to OneSimCard.
If you do not ship the rental package back as scheduled you will be charged Over the Planned Rental Period daily fees which are specified for you at the time of purchase and could be found here.
If the rental package is not returned within 15 days after the planned rental period has passed, we will consider the phone purchased and you will be charged for the full cost of the package. Returns will not be accepted after this point regardless of the reason for the delay.
You will be charged for missing or damaged items in the package. The cost of the replacement items is provided in the packing slip of the rental package.
Upon shipping of the rentals, we will charge your credit card the full replacement cost of the rental package.
When the package is returned to OneSimCard, we will issue the credit back to the original credit card for the difference of the replacement cost and the actual cost of rentals based on the rental period ordered and the date returned.
Separate charges will be made for the purchase of additional air-time at the time of recharges (air-time purchase).
Yes, you can! Our Refer a Friend program is available to all OneSimCard active account holders. For each friend you refer that purchases new service, you will receive $10 ($5 for rentals) deposited into your 1SIM Money Fund. The referral bonus will be received once the order for new service is placed, shipped and the 30-day return window has closed. You can then use these bonus awards to recharge your airtime or use toward any other purchases. There are no limits to the number of friends you can refer or the bonuses you can receive!
To refer a friend, simply log in to your account and click the Refer A Friend link on your main account menu. You will be notified when your referrals make a purchase and will be able to track all of your referrals right from this Refer A Friend page.
Please note: in order to be eligible for your bonus you MUST first refer your friend(s) using the Refer A Friend link/page. We will not accept any referrals verbally, via email or by any means other than submitting through the form.
Yes, we offer the option of selecting rental insurance when placing your rental order. The cost is only $0.99 per day and covers handset loss, theft or damage. Deductible based on phone model. View the full terms and conditions.
All orders are shipped out based on the rental Start Date that you enter and your shipping method. The Start Date is the latest day that you will need your phone rental before you leave for your trip (usually a day or two before you leave). The End Date is the day your package must be postmarked by to avoid any late return fees. Rentals will ship out with enough time to make sure you receive your order a couple of days prior to your Start Date.
For example, if you place your rental order on August 15 with a Start Date of August 30 and choose Overnight shipping, we will ship your package on August 27 so it arrives on August 28.
OneSimCard VoIP requires you to order a compatible Personal Extra Number (PEN). Most of the PENs we offer are OneSim VoIP enabled. You also need to have an Android phone with software version 2.0 or higher, or Apple device (iPhone, iPaed, iPod Touch) with iOS 4.3 or higher.
Once you have an active OneSim VoIP enabled PEN, you will be able to see the option to create a OneSim VoIP account in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
Once you create the OneSim VoIP account, you will be emailed settings and instructions. You can also see the settings in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
To make an outgoing call using OneSim VoIP, you need to be registered on a Wi-Fi network and have the OneSim VoIP app running on your phone. You should make the call using the OneSim VoIP app dial pad. To make a call the regular roaming way, you should make a call using the OneSimCard Direct app or from your regular phone dial pad.
When someone dials your OneSim VoIP enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN), the system will first check if your OneSimCard phone is registered with the OneSim VoIP app on a Wi-Fi network. If it is registered, the call will be sent using VoIP. If the OneSim VoIP app is not running or it is not registered on a Wi-Fi network, then the call will be sent using the standard OneSimCard roaming network and charged our standard roaming rates.
Yes. If you are not available to answer the OneSim VoIP call or if the OneSim VoIP app is turned off, the call will be routed through our standard roaming network. If the call is not answered it will be sent to your OneSimCard voicemail box.
The quality of a OneSim VoIP call is only defined by the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. This is the part of the connection that we can not control. Quality of the Wi-Fi connection is defined by many parameters, rather than just by the speed of the connection. With a good Wi-Fi connection the quality of the call will be similar to using our regular roaming network.
For Android phones, you must have a OneSimCard international SIM card installed in your phone for the OneSim VoIP app to work.
For Apple devices, including iPhones, you do not need to have a OneSimCard international SIM card installed in your phone. As long as you have an active VoIP-enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN) on your OneSimCard account then you can use OneSim VoIP with any SIM card installed in the phone or even without a SIM card if you are using an iPad.
Log in to your OneSimCard account, go to the My Sim Cards menu and scroll down. If your PEN is VoIP compatible you will see an option to create a OneSim VoIP account.
If you have more than one OneSim VoIP enabled PEN you can switch between these PENs for the purpose of the OneSim VoIP account. This option is available in the My SIM Cards menu in your online account.
If your incoming calls are not being routed through the OneSim VoIP app then you are either not connected to Wi-Fi or the OneSim VoIP app is not active.
Please make sure to check your phone's sleep settings, as they are usually preset to have Wi-Fi turn off when the phone enters sleep mode. To prevent this and to keep OneSim VoIP active for incoming calls, find the settings in your phone and set it so Wi-Fi does not turn off when the phone enters sleep mode.
Note: if the OneSim VoIP logo on the top of your phone display is gray then you will not be able to receive calls through the application. When the logo is yellow that means you are connected and can receive calls through OneSim VoIP.
