101. How To Use Questions
    • How do I set up SMS text messaging on my phone?

      SMS messaging usually works without any additional setup of the phone.
      In rare cases when there are issues sending or receiving text messages, please look at the following:

      Problem with Sending SMS:

      • Incorrect SMSC number (SMS Service Center Address) in handset settings.

      SMSC number should be set as follows:

       

      1. For Standard  and Plus OneSimCard SIM: +3725099000 for all countries except:

      a. China:  +85290296747

       

      2. For the Expedition (former Data & Roam) SIM as well as for Europe & More SIM: +37256100041

       

      Special instructions for Apple Phones:

      With Apple iPhones to check SMSC:

      From the phone dialer Dial *#5005*7672# 

      You will see the SMSC set currently on the the phone. 

      To change the SMSC on Iphone dial: 

      Plus and Standard SIMs: **5005*7672*+3725099000# for all countries except China and **5005*7672*+85290296747# if in China.

      Expedition (formerly Data & Roam) and Europe & More SIMs in any country: **5005*7672*+37256100041#


       

       

      If your phone requires the name of Message Center Name enter: SMSC
      SMS lifetime is short - must be at least 2 hours or set to Maximum settings.
      Try sending SMS from OneSimCard menu

       

       Problem with Receiving SMS:

      • Receiving Handset does not have enough free memory for incoming SMS.
      • Receiving Handset was turned off or out of the coverage area during SMS lifetime set on the sending phone - usually 2 hours.
      • Sender's SMS provider does not have an agreement with the receiving network.
102. How To Use Questions
    • How can I dial '+' on my phone when making call?

      Note: You can always dial 00 instead of + when making outgoing calls. For example, to reach OneSimCard customer service in the USA you can just dial 001 617 3138888.

      You should consult the phone manual for this info. Different manufacturers have specific ways to access the '+' key, so make sure you know yours.

      Here are few known ways:
      • BlackBerry?® 6210: Press Alt (bottom, far left on keyboard) and the letter "I".
      • Bosch: Press and hold the star (*) key until the "+" sign appears.
      • Motorola: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
      • Nokia: Press the star (*) key twice in rapid succession.
      • Pocket PC: Pull up the keyboard, hit the <123> button in the top left corner, and select "+" from the resulting screen.
      • Samsung: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
      • Sony Ericsson: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
      • Treo 270: Press the blue button and then the "G" key.

    • Is there any way to remove the callback ring after I dial a number?

      The newly offered OneSimCard Europe & More and the Universal SIM does not use the callback to make an outgoing call in over 70 countries.

       

      With OneSimCard Plus or Expedition (formerly Data & Roam) SIM:

      Normally, when you make a call with OneSimCard the phone will ring back within a few seconds after dialing and you will then get connected. You can eliminate this callback if you have a smarphone running Android (OS version 5 or below) by downloading and installing our OneSimCard Direct mobile app. 

      For phones using Android (OS version 5 or below):

      OneSimCard Direct app allows you to hide the callback and makes it easier to make a call directly from your phone's address book. Unfortunately it is not available on the newer version of Androids, nor on iPhone.

      Once the application is installed on your phone, please run it once and then turn your phone off and back on. You will then be able to dial without receiving the callback.

    • Does calling to a mobile phone cost more than calling to a land line?

      No, it does not cost more to dial an international mobile number using OneSimCard service. You will receive the same very low per minute rate whether calling to a mobile phone or to a land line.

    • Are there any additional roaming charges?

      There are NO additional roaming charges. The rates you see listed on our Rates & Coverage page are the only rates you will be charged when making or receiving calls on your OneSimCard enabled cell phone.

    • I was charged a large amount for mobile data service even though I barely used data, what happened?

      Each mobile data session is charged for a minimum of 10kB usage. Even if you check just one 3k email you will be charged for 10kB of usage. In some countries this can be over 30c per session, however in Europe and elsewhere it can be as little as 1c. Check all rates.

      Please note: Some phones, like iPhones and other smartphones, can access data without you even knowing it if you have data enabled. We strongly recommend checking the settings on your phone or disabling GPRS from your OneSimCard account if you will not be needing data service. By default, all SIM cards are pre-programmed with GPRS data service disabled.

    • What is the Internet Data cost in those countries where more than one network is available?

      In some countries we offer multiple networks to improve coverage. While the cost of Voice calls and Texts does not depend on a particular network in the country, the cost of Internet Data sometimes does.

       
      The Data rate for each particular network is shown on the Rates and Coverage page of OneSimCard.com where available -


      In those countries like India where there are many networks, the cost of using Internet Data service can vary significantly from from one network to another. In such countries we strongly recommend to change settings on your mobile phone, so networks selected manually, rather than automatically. In this case, when you are in the country of travel, you can select to register on the available network with the lowest Data cost.
      Having the settings set to Manual Network selection will make sure that the network will not get switched to another one with higher rates when the signal of the lower data cost network is weak.

    • How should I call to get help from an interpreter for foreign language translation?

      The new OneSimCard Global Concierge Service offers a full suite of services available 24/7/365, including foreign language translation services for over 90 languages. The service is available to you any time you need help of a professional interpreter. Just dial +372991 or 00372991 from your phone and ask for the interpreter service.

109. Ordering Questions
    • How do I order Discount Call, Text and Data packages?

      You can order discount Call, Text and Data packages from your OneSimCard web account after you have received and activated your OneSimCard.

      To order a discount package for your SIM card, follow these steps:

      1. Log into your account at OneSimCard.com
      2. Click on the My SIM Cards menu links
      3. If you have more than one SIM card, make sure the SIM Card you’d like to activate a discount package for is selected
      4. Navigate to the Discount Service Plans section and select a discount package you would like to activate
      5. Click Activate Now to activate the selected package immediately or Activate Later to schedule the activation on a particular date

      As of December 26th, 2018 - new feature is added to setting up future data package activation:

      a. You can now set up the maximum number of times  data packages to be activated automatically when the package is used up or expired.
      b. You can set the date after which no packages will be activated, so when your travel is over no data packages will be activated and no charges will follow.

110. Rates and Cost Questions
    • Are there any monthly fees or connection charges?

      There are no monthly fees or connection charges for using OneSimCard international cell phone service.

      If you order an optional Personal Extra Number (PEN), there is a small periodic fee to keep the PEN active based on how you choose to be billed (from $1.67 per month).
