11. eSIM
    • Can eSIM be used for Data, Calls and Texts?

Yes, as of March 3rd, 2020, OneSimCard eSIM can be used for Mobile Data, Voice and Texts. However, you can still use the OneSim VOIP app option with a Personal Extra Number (PEN) for additional savings on calling and texting
12. Rates and Cost Questions
    • Does calling to a mobile phone cost more than calling to a land line?

No, it does not cost more to dial an international mobile number using OneSimCard service. You will receive the same very low per minute rate whether calling to a mobile phone or to a land line.

You can find all rates listed on our Rates & Coverage page.

    • Why can't I receive phone calls andĀ SMS on my Android phone when the screen is off?

Newer Android OS versions have settings that do not allow apps to run in the background by default. This means that you will get an SMS or a phone call only while your phone display is ON. Once theĀ  phone goes to sleep, the app will get deactivated.

To fix this, you need to make a change in your phone's battery optimization settings:

      Settings -> Apps and notifications -> See All Apps -> 1SimVoIP -> Advanced -> Battery -> Don't Optimize

The settings path may slightly differ depending on the phone model, but usually it is located in theĀ  App's Battery menu.
14. OneSim VoIP
    • I can make calls through OneSim VoIP. However incoming calls are going through my roaming SIM. What's wrong?

If your incoming calls are not being routed through the OneSim VoIP app then you are either not connected to Wi-Fi or the OneSim VoIP app is not active.

Please make sure to check your phone's sleep settings, as they are usually preset to have Wi-Fi turn off when the phone enters sleep mode. To prevent this and to keep OneSim VoIP active for incoming calls, find the settings in your phone and set it so Wi-Fi does not turn off when the phone enters sleep mode.

Note: if the OneSim VoIP logo on the top of your phone display is gray then you will not be able to receive calls through the application. When the logo is yellow that means you are connected and can receive calls through OneSim VoIP.
15. OneSim VoIP
    • What is the cost of calling between two OneSim VoIP phones?

Calls between two OneSim VoIP phones are absolutely free.
16. How To Use Questions
    • Can I be notified of missed calls when my phone is off or outside of a coverage area?

Yes, you will receive SMS or email notifications when you miss a call due to your phone being off or out of coverage. SMS notifications are sent when the phone is unavailable for a period up to 4 hours. Email notifications are sent, regardless of the time period, to the email address you have entered into your online voicemail profile. Notifications will be sent when you make/receive a call or enter a new roaming country. NOTE: if the caller leaves a voicemail message then you will not receive this extra missed call notification.
17. OneSim VoIP
    • When I make a call using OneSim VoIP the quality of the call is not as good as the quality of the regular roaming connection. Can this be improved?

The quality of a OneSim VoIP call is only defined by the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. This is the part of the connection that we can not control. Quality of the Wi-Fi connection is defined by many parameters, rather than just by the speed of the connection. With a good Wi-Fi connection the quality of the call will be similar to using our regular roaming network.
18. OneSim VoIP
    • How does OneSim VoIP work when the call is received?

When someone dials your OneSim VoIP enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN), the system will first check if your OneSimCard phone is registered with the OneSim VoIP app on a Wi-Fi network. If it is registered, the call will be sent using VoIP. If the OneSim VoIP app is not running or it is not registered on a Wi-Fi network, then the call will be sent using the standard OneSimCard roaming network and charged our standard roaming rates.
19. OneSim VoIP
    • When making an outgoing call how do I select which way the call should go: through regular roaming or through OneSim VoIP?

To make an outgoing call using OneSim VoIP, you need to be registered on a Wi-Fi network and have the OneSim VoIP app running on your phone. You should make the call using the OneSim VoIP app dial pad. To make a call the regular roaming way, you should make a call from your regular phone dial pad.
20. OneSim VoIP
    • Can I call using OneSim VoIP from countries where OneSimCard does not offer roaming coverage?

Yes. You can call from absolutely anywhere as long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection.
